Some fun facts about Kim:

Kim Hanna

Kim Hanna is the creator of Camping For Foodies. She lives in metro Phoenix and travels with her husband (and 2 cats) to find stunning camping destinations across the country and cooking restaurant-quality meals in rugged conditions.

They typically travel in their Grand Design fifth wheel RV (which is their latest home on wheels), prior to this vehicle they owned an older RV of the same model. Before that, they had a Keystone Cougar travel trailer, and early in their RV ownership journey they had two different hybrid travel trailers. Like most RV owners, they began camping in tents. Occasionally they still pop their tent to get back to their roots where it all started. You will see photos and videos of all of their equipment throughout different blog posts, especially those that feature how-to tips, gear reviews and awesome camping destinations.

She believes many adults are so consumed with their 24/7 connected lives that they don’t take time to enjoy nature and live in the moment. She uses her platform to inspire others to unplug from their hectic lives one camp recipe at a time.

Readers love Kim for sharing her award-winning campfire chili recipe, explaining how to grill sweet corn over a campfire, teaching them how to purchase affordable propane at Costco stores and how to choose the perfect camping gifts for every type of camper.

In her own words:

  • My name is Kim and I didn’t truly experience camping until I was an adult. I fell in love with it because it helped me to de-stress from a very stressful job. It helped me run away from that job on weekends. Now, I run toward camping to experience the beauty, tranquility and awesomeness of nature.
  • I’ve realized that God’s creation is far more beautiful than anything man-made!
  • I love camping, hiking and cooking, especially over an open flame. And, I’m not talkin’ about charcoal, I mean … REAL – BURNING – WOOD.
  • If you’re in range on your cell phone when you’re camping, you didn’t drive far enough before you stopped to set up camp.
  • I believe cheese should be its own food group, not just part of “dairy”. Garlic is essential for a flavorful life. Dessert makes a fabulous entrée. And, counting calories is waaaaaaaay overrated.
  • Cats rock! They don’t need you, so, when they choose you, you can be sure it’s real.
  • I love big sunglasses and my bubblegum pink cruiser bicycle. (especially when pedaling through a crowded national park, like Yosemite or Zion.)
  • I have been extremely blessed with a fantastic family and I love Jesus Christ!
