Camping For Foodies Dinner Camping Recipes: Dutch Oven Pork Chops Campfire Recipe

Ingredients

vegetable or olive oil
Salt and pepper
to taste

bone-in center cut pork chops
1/2 inch thick, about 3 pounds total
1
cup
chicken broth
1
cup
cider vinegar
1
(8 oz)
package sliced fresh mushrooms
1
medium onion
sliced thin
1
tablespoon
brown sugar
6
garlic cloves
peeled and smashed
1
teaspoon
dried thyme leaves
1/4
cup
chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
Allow chops to get to room temperature while your campfire is being prepared. Start your campfire or other cooking source.
Heat vegetable oil in bottom of 12-inch camp Dutch oven.
Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
Brown both sides of the pork chops in the hot oil in the Dutch oven.
Now add the chicken broth, cider vinegar, mushrooms, onion, brown sugar, garlic and thyme to the camp Dutch oven.
Cover and simmer till chops are tender (about 40 minutes).
Top with parsley for serving.
