How To Get Propane At Costco

Print these instructions to get your RV propane tanks refilled at Costco.

Equipment

  • Empty propane tank (this is for regular sized propane tanks, not 1 pound propane cylinders)

Materials

  • 1 Costco membership card

Instructions

  • Find the Costco Propane Service Station in the parking lot of the store (it will probably be near the tire shop, see Note #1)
  • Take your empty tank to the station.
  • Push the button to notify the attendant you are there. Look for a sign that says “Call Attendant, Push Button” or something similar.
  • The attendant will meet you at the station and verify your propane tank is not expired (see Note #2.)
  • The attendant will fill your tank while you wait then he/she will give you a receipt.
  • Your tank will stay at the station until you pay for the propane and come back at a later time to pick it up.

  1. Check with the specific Costco location to verify it has the propane refill service. 
  2. Costco does not take expired tanks so check the date on your tank before you head to the store.
