1(5 oz)semi-sweet chocolate chipsapproximately half of an 11 oz. bag
Instructions
Set up your cooking environment. Set up a propane camp stove or if you are cooking with a campfire, get your fire going.
In a bowl, mix water and pancake mix according to package directions.
In a saucepan, combine syrup ingredients and cook over medium heat, stirring till all ingredients are melted and combined. When the syrup starts to bubble, remove from heat and cover to keep warm.
Non-stick cooking spray to cover cooking surface of large skillet or pancake griddle.
Cook the pancakes. Pour pancake batter on prepared skillet or griddle, dot batter with lots of chocolate chips if you want your pancakes really "chocolatey", use less if you want a little less chocolate flavor (reserve a few for serving too).
Flip when edges start to firm and DON’T let the chocolate chips burn.
Serve them. Drizzle with syrup and place a few more chocolate chips over the top for serving.
