Top 3 Picks This Week!
Café ZuZu – Hip retro restaurant inside the iconic Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale. Executive Chef Wiley has refined comfort food into a gastronomic experience that is lighter and healthier than the old fashioned version from the past. He uses seasonal, local and organic ingredients to make fresh and clean food with a modern twist. Chef Richard spilled the beans about the Café ZuZu burger; it is legendary with ½ pound freshly ground chuck which is grilled and then topped with balsamic onions, bacon and blue cheese. Where did the ZuZu name come from? The owner’s grandmother was named ZuZu; she was an awesome home cook who created approachable straight-forward food…just what the Café ZuZu restaurant does every day. As “Good Neighbors”, they contribute to the neighborhood through St. Mary’s Food Bank and St. Vincent de Paul.
Bobby Q’s – Rustic and true BBQ is the specialty here in Phoenix. Bobby Q’s was recently voted one of the top 30 BBQ joints in the nation! Executive Chef Mark Hittle makes sure their smoker runs 24/7 to keep up with the demand. Three different styles of sauces are sure to please every BBQ connoisseur. As if that isn’t enough, meals are ended with complimentary homemade donuts!
Kim Hanna’s Camping For Foodies – Making Turkey with Avocado Mayo Panini at the campsite in the Usery Mountain Regional Park. This café-style sandwich is super simple to make but galaxies beyond the average lunchmeat sandwich on the flavor scale. This kid-tested lunch satisfies the finicky campers in the group as well as the sophisticated foodies too. As a “Good Neighbor”, she donates a portion of her proceeds to World Vision-Building a Better World for Children.
