Over Easy – This father and son team runs the business that has earned national bragging rights and is truly a local favorite. Brad (father) and Aaron (son and chef) May work together to bring over 75 menu items to grateful fans across the Valley. Food Network Magazine called Over Easy the Best Breakfast in Arizona while Food and Wine Magazine called it One of the Three Best Breakfasts in the United States! With kudos like that, you know breakfast will be done right at this place. On the show Chef Aaron gave viewers a glimpse of how they create their Banana Caramel Pecan French Toast with from-scratch caramel and Arizona-grown pecans which are indigenous to the state. He also gave the scoop on their Chicken Fried Steak with Country Gravy and topped with an Over Easy Egg. As “Good Neighbors” they teach students from a local vocational school how to work in commercial kitchens in conjunction with Saint Mary’s Food Bank and do fundraisers that support local organizations.
Mining Camp Restaurant – Located at the base of the mysterious and majestic Superstition Mountains, the historic Mining Camp Restaurant offers two styles of dining experiences: family style or the Dutchman’s Hideout which won the Best Steakhouse in the Valley award from ABC15’s A-List. You’ll find celebrities from across the country performing at the dinner shows and dancing is part of the fun. Chef Dennis Bagnasco showcased some of the longtime favorites like the Mesquite Grilled Ribeyes, Traditional BBQ Beef Ribs and Chicken Pot Pie but he also created a more recent favorite…the Dynamite Shrimp with a Sweet and Spicy Chili Aioli. Owner, Vinton Fugate, reminded us to “Come taste an Arizona tradition.” As a “Good Neighbor” the Mining Camp supports Sunshine Acres which is a home for homeless children as well as supporting the Apache Junction Food Bank, Lost Dutchman State Park and local schools.
Kim Hanna’s Camping For Foodies – Enjoying the breakfast theme, Kim made Muffin Tin Eggs on the Campfire which is as much of an art as it is a science. When the crowd can’t seem to agree on how they want their eggs, Kim says let them build their own! Setting up a build-a-bar allows hungry campers to decide what they want in their eggs and making them in giant muffin tins over the campfire makes kids of all ages want to play along. As a “Good Neighbor” Kim donates a portion of her proceeds to World Vision-Building a Better World for Children.
