Human or Motor-Powered? Playing on Patagonia Lake with Camping For Foodies
When it comes to playing on a lake some of us take the leisurely route and others have the need for speed. No matter your mood for the day, you’ll be able to scratch the itch to hit the water at Patagonia Lake. The lakeside marina is super handy to rent your watercraft of choice as well as stock up on supplies. And, if you are staying at a boat-in campsite you can conveniently play throughout the day whenever the urge hits you.
So how do you decide what type of craft to rent? I don’t want to give away all my secrets but I feel compelled to share this one. First, start with these questions: How much work am I willing to do and how strong is my partner? In deciding between a paddle boat and a canoe you may want to consider the side-by-side or in-line seating arrangement choices. If you are a willing participant, the paddle boat is a great option and you can make sure your partner is doing his or her fair share of the pedaling. On the other hand, if you are trying to save your energy for the upcoming Arizona wine country tour and tasting; then you may be more apt to choose the canoe. If this is your choice I must share this WARNING: Before you leave the dock, it is imperative that you strategically position yourself to quietly slip into the rear seat position so your partner does not realize your partial commitment to expend your human energy. FOLLOW UP WARNING: You MUST paddle when directional control is required. In order to keep your partial energy contribution under-cover, you have to know when your contribution is no longer optional before you end up in the lake grasslands.
The views from Patagonia Lake are gorgeous; you’ll love the little coves and distant mountain views. Just make sure you leave enough time to explore the lake by foot on the trails.
