Motivation For The New Year
At the beginning of every year we all have hopes, dreams and goals for the future. One of the things I love most about camping is the downtime I have while being unplugged giving me the “space” I need to reflect on my life. Sometimes my dreams are so big that they really seem impossible and that is exactly why I use music to encourage and sustain my goals and motivation for the New Year. Psst we’re compensated…see our disclosures.
Impossible by Building 429 from the Album Unashamed. I don’t know about you, but songs move me…I mean, emotionally and motivationally. So, I love focusing on one song for the year that really speaks to me and where I am in life as I set my course for the year. The song I chose as my motivation for the New Year is Impossible by Building 429. The tune is upbeat, catchy and fun in a retro groovy sort of way. It’s kind of like an Austin Powers film series type of feeling.
Consider where you will be listening to your motivational music and the type of device you will need to play it. You may want earbuds for personal listening; these are especially great when listening while hiking or doing other on-the-go activities. Speakers are better for group listening around the campsite.
Music and faith drive my motivation for the New Year
Rejoice. Pray. Believe. Trust.
Impossible reminds me that it takes a little time to move your dreams and passions to reality but if you believe and trust in the God of miracles, there is no such thing as impossible. It also reminds me that God does not give us a spirit of fear but rather the power of love…and when I grow weak, His strength is more than enough. So, when times get tough I need to keep running and rely on the God who created me for a purpose I will fulfill.

About Building 429, from their website:
With the release of 2011’s Listen to the Sound, Building 429 solidified its place as one of Christian music’s best-loved and most influential bands. The hit single “Where I Belong” became an anthem for today’s believers and was Billboard Magazine’s No. 1 Christian song of 2012. The song set an impressive record as it became the first song to remain at No. 1 for 15 weeks, an unprecedented feat. Pushing forward with a renewed passion and sense of purpose, Building 429 now unleashes We Won’t Be Shaken.
“When asked what we were trying to achieve with this record, we thought back to a plaque on our manager’s desk, ‘What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?’ We felt like that was the perfect mantra of this record,” frontman Jason Roy states. With bold declarations and its driven inspiration, the band has never had a more effervescent message to offer to listeners than it has now. “We know who we are better than ever before,” drummer Michael Anderson says, “who we are as men, who we are as husbands, who we are as Christ followers and that just pours into the music.”
