Your Own Private Fishing Spot at a Campground Campsite

Campground camping and privacy usually don’t go hand-in-hand, but we found a winner in Spot 17 at Patagonia Lake State Park! The rolling hills in the Patagonia/Sonoita Arizona area are part of the landscape at the State Park too.

This spot feels like you have the whole Park to yourself because it has multiple levels: the campsite itself is flat and just off the loop road, the “staircase” leads you a bit lower to the fire ring and picnic table area which is surrounded by beautiful trees allowing for glimpses of the lake which is accessible via a short walk on a gently sloping stretch. This all-in-one package allows for easy fishing without having to leave the campsite area. If you’re lucky enough to catch your dinner, hauling the fresh fish back to camp is a breeze.
