Who doesn’t like opening presents? It’s always fun to find the surprise inside…that includes burgers! No matter what flavor combination you are in the mood for, stuffing a burger with your favorite ingredients makes for a little excitement in every bite. Bacon and blue cheese is a flavor to savor combo. Here’s how you make them. Serves 4. Psst…our disclosures.

Blue Cheese and Bacon Stuffed Burger camp recipes Camping For Foodies
Mix the stuffing
4 slices thick bacon-fried and crumbled
8 T Blue cheese crumbles (you can substitute any cheese here, make your campers happy!)
1 T chopped fresh chives
Pat the burgers
2 pounds ground beef (I like 80/20 because a little fat = lots of flavor)
Salt and pepper to taste
When you pat the burgers make 8 patties of equal size (you are making a top and bottom for each burger.) Season with salt and pepper. Divide the stuffing mixture among the 4 bottoms; lay the other 4 patties on top and pinch together the outside edge of each burger to hold the stuffing inside.
Grill ‘em
Cook them to your desired doneness (we like our burgers well done…no judging, please!)
Make the sandwiches and top with your favorite embellishments
4 Hamburger buns (split side lightly toasted)
My favorite topping is my Blue Cheese and Chive Mayo which is super-fast and easy. My husband (who I believe destroyed his taste buds years ago with every extremely hot sauce and pepper under the sun) likes to top his with ever-so-colorful but blazing hot habanero peppers (I do NOT recommend this because I am a sane person!)
